Anna Bassols Texeidó has a Ph.D. in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona (UB). Postdoctoral stay at the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Massachusetts Mediacal Center (USA, 1986-1987).
Since 1988 at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine since 2009.

Research group interested in the search for biomarkers for animal welfare, stress, pathology, nutrition and development, as well as in the application of proteomics and metabolomics in veterinary medicine, mainly in farm animals. Acute phase proteins are an area of special interest.
Also interested in the applied science and thus participates in joint projects with companies for the design of reagents for veterinary clinical chemistry.
The main techniques used in research are enzymatic and immunological assays as well as proteomics and metabolomics for the search for biomarkers.
Author of 106 research articles. PI or participant in 17 research projects. Supervisor of 17 Doctoral Theses and 26 Final Master Projects.
